Topic: Color of TiO2 sols Posted: 13 May 2008 at 12:31pm
Hi group! I have been working on a new synthetic approach for titania nanoparticles and so far the protocol seems to be working (I have only performed DLS measurments so far) but there is one inconsistency: Some sols (I keep the nanoparticles suspended) have a whitish-yellowish color with a blue tinge and some are milky blue. Do you know why some of them are yellowish and some are not? I am suspecting either the size of the particles or the crystalline state, but i could not really find the answer in the literature. Any help or suggestions will be highly appreciated.
